From the Carboniferous,Visean stage.
Collected from Cheese bay,Gullane,Edinburgh,Scotland.
Superb black Decapod crustacean on a Shale plate,from the Lower Oil shales of Cheese bay.
The specimen has some very fine detail,i have tried to give a good range of pictures, but i don't think i have done it justice, as the shrimp shows up fantastic when you catch the light just right!
The Shrimp measures 26mm x 7mm and the entire specimen including matrix is 42mm x 29mm.
This specimen came to me from an intermediary,who was breaking up and selling the John Hearty collection.
