Psiloceras Planorbis (Sowerby 1824)
Early Jurassic hettangian planorbis zone, lower lias,
Collected from Watchet in Somerset, England.
Shimmering iridescent Silver and Blue, coloured ammonite,a classic from this locality,
The colours come from several layers of the mineral Aragonite,a very good size with a bivalve encrusting the shell!
The ammonite measures 30mm and the whole specimen including matrix, measures 85mm x 49mm.
