From the Lower Miocene,Hawthorne formation. 
Collected from Thomas farm,15 miles west of High Springs,Gilcrest county,Florida,U.S.A. 
Very cool single tooth from this early six million year old Horse,or Proto Horse,complete with root
Originally named from the type location of Leon County,and was likely prayed upon by bear dogs,who's teeth marks match indentations on Parahippus bones.
This is something of a rarity for us.
The tooth is loose from matrix and measures 19mm.
