From the Triassic, Rhaetic/Penarth group.
Collected from Garden cliff ,Westbury on Severn Gloucester.
A rather enigmatic early crocodile relative known as a choristodere
There are several disassociated bones from Pachystropheus on this bone bed.
The main interest is in the Single large Dorsal rib that is in two pieces, this is really quite large for the species and belonging to a sub adult, there is also other bone material on both sides along with a very pleasant spattering of golden iron pyrites.
The rib measures 60mm and including matrix the whole piece is 118mm x 92mm.
