Super good sized enrolled Calymenid trilobite from the Richmond group, Great detail.
This specimen looks like its in a sitting up and begging position
The retorsa comes from a different sub unit to the meeki and the cephalon is considerably more rounded than the forward inclination of the meeki.
The rolled up habit trilobites are able to perform was likely to be a protective reflex to discourage predators.
The Trilobite is loose from matrix and measures 19.7mm x 14.7mm
