From the Lower Permian ,Texas red beds.
Collected from The badlands North /east Texas ,USA.
This is a really good well preserved coprolite (poo) from an Edaphosaurus reptile ,looking very similar to the famous Dimetrodon with the sail back that you used to see in films from the 50s and 60s.
There were other species in this formation that could have been a candidate for this specimen, such as Dimetrodon,Eryops and Diadectes but Edaphosaurus is the most commonly found,so i am happy to list it as highly likely.
The coprolite measures 30mm x 17mm and will certainly contain fossilised remains of plant material !
Please Be advised, the specimen has been attached onto the white tray of the display box, with Blu-tac,removing it from the display case may damage the back of the specimen as it may be fragile!
This has been done to ensure the specimen is safe and secure for display and during transport.
