Ictitherium viverrinum (Trouessart, 1897)
From the Late Miocene.
Collected from Guanghe,Gansu province,Northwestern China.
Very nice partial jaw with two complete teeth showing limited signs of wear,from this extinct fantastic seven million year old Hyaenidae.
Oddly enough these were generally considered insectivores,and the site these were found was thought to be a large cave dwelling,
The specimen is loose from matrix and measures 48MM X 25MM
